Wow...He's such a charmer oh no !
lundi 3 septembre 2007
I arrived there quite late, couldn't get on the front row...gaelle was on the front row, matthew's side...but there was already many people so i couldn't catch the barrier.
anyway, i was at the back at the begining...before they came on stage, we saw them backstage thanks to the big screens..they were waiting to get on the stage and they all knock their hands (well...i don't know if i should use knock)...anyway, i've never seen before what they were doing just before getting on stage...now i have !
I was so surprised by the setlist...they opened with four kicks (i was waiting for black thumbnail but they didn't play it). i can't remember the exact setlist...but they played a lot of songs from the 2nd album, four kicks, razz, slow night so long, milk n the bucket, i think that's it...from the first, only moll'ys chamber, spiral staircase and trani...and from the last one, on call, charmer, fans, knocked up, my party and mc fearless...
it was a great show..so at the beggining, I was like 20 meters away from the stage...but after the 1st song, i wanted to move, dance and shout so i went closer to the stage (it was quite calm where i was at the begining)..anyway, as you know, i wanted to crowd surf, but i hesitated a long time cause i had my bag with me...but when i heard spiral staircase, i went crazy and ask a guy to push me up...i ended up on the 3rd or 4th row....then crowd surf again and i fell on the security guards ! ahah...but i dunno...i can't remember if i looked at the stage while crowdsurfing, i think i did but didn't notice if the kings saw me ! ahah probably I guess...i've crowd surf another time on SNSL, i had a lot of fun !
it's great to crowd surf on the kings songs
at a time, Caleb's voice began to shut a bit, he told us to help him sing on milk cause (i quote) my voice is gonna shut !
I was a bit worried, but finally, everything was okay...nacho gave him something to drink...i recognized a bottle of white wine, but i'm not really sure.
talking about nacho, his new hairdo is special...i don't know how to explain...girlie
and talking about drinks...during trani, nathan was drinking his beer with a straw !
I have a picture , i'll show you...
I'm uploading my pics on multiply if you wanna see ( http://queenofleon.multiply.com/ )
The show was great...better than I expected...they seemed to be happy to be there and have fun...it's was hot and sunny...and the sound was good !
i had a lot of fun and enjoyed it very much...but Caleb said it was their last show in france for a while.
then in the evening, they did an interview for mtv...it was public and i manage to got in the little room but couldn't see well...so i grabbed my camera and took as much pictures as i could with my arms tensed over my head !
ohhhh by the way, i know the secret of their tight jeans...there's a zipper at the bottom !!! that's why it's so tight on the ankles !
I have a picture too
i couldn't hear them well either...but the questions didn't seem to be interesting...the video of the interview will probably end up on the internet, on mtv france website i guess.

it was my first gig of KOL...
we arrived at the venue pretty early, so we stayed at the café next to the Bataclan. we saw Nacho, we talk to him, he is very nice, the sweetest guy you can ever met. He was very small too!
ahah. he was carrying Snowden's bass on his back and it was almost as big as him ! ahah
we started queuing and finally get in at 7pm !
i was on the front row, just in front of Leb
the gig started at 8pm..they were on time...snowden was boring as hell ! well, this is my thoughts...but i think some people liked them.
anyway, they change the materials very quickly...nacho did a good job !
they played about 20 songs. they even played koncked up, i swear, i almost cry because i was in shock....too much emotion to see them !
the crowd was amazing, with a few friends, we started singing happy birthday nathan...caleb let us sang, then started a song...but a few songs later he said to everyone that it was nathan's birthday and then all the crowd sang ! it was awesome !!
well, i have little anecdotes...at the beggining of on call, caleb was about 1 meter away from his mic...but he was whispering the lyrics..like he had forgotten what they were..it was so weird. then he started singing.
there was a bottle of honey, but he didn't drank it.
but he put water in his mouth then threw it on us ! ahah
what else?...jared was singing to all the songs, it was funny.
nathan was chewing and making bubbles...i manage to take one pic of him doing it !
and matthew was the one who impressed me the most ! i don't know why, he was just amazing on stage.
when they left the stage..both after trani and slow night so long..they waved at the crowd and stayed a bit on stage ! the crowd was crazy...
at the end of the gig, everyone was waiting to get a plectrum, or the setlist...nacho looked at me, asked me what i'd like to have, grab a setlist and gave it to me..there was like 10 hands but he took mine and put the setlist in it
he is soooooo kind !
after the gig, i bought a KOL tshirt..i choose the one with cherry and the old artwork...
anyway, we were waiting outside the venue...the kings came out to take their cabs and took some pictures with fans. i got my YAYM copy signed buy all of them and a picture with Jared
well it was a really really really great gig ! the best i've been too!
i think they were happy to play in france...caleb said that it better than in germany (where they played a few days ago)...it was nice from him to say that..even if he probably says this everytime he's playing in a new city ! ahah
well, that's all i can remember for the moment, i'll let you know if i remember something else
here's the setlist by the way :

I've uploaded my best pics/videos of the gig here : http://queenofleon.multiply.com/
hope you'll like them !

Bonnaroo 2007 review...
Look what you've missed if you weren't in Tennessee last Friday :
thank you Buck ;)
"I never thought we'd get here," Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill said Friday afternoon in front of a sprawling, sun-baked crowd of tens of thousands. "But we're on the main stage at Bonnaroo." (source)
I don't know what that was'.
"[...]Speaking of Kings of Leon, they opened up the massive What Stage right. They didn't play much early stuff, but their 75-minute set rocked out the faithful and got the big-time festivities off to a good start. The sound issue (which lasted almost an entire song) kinda blew, and it hurt Caleb Followill's feelings a little bit (he did some pouting), but that hiccup beside the point they were pretty freaking awesome. Plus, if you get close enough to the What Stage, its shadow blocks out the sun. Everybody wins!" (source)
